I had to post this as it is a great flyer even though i will not be attending.
Totally reminds me of those 80's paintings of women. The women where mostly naked or had a hat on with some lipstick. You could see a splash of red on their lips or purple
in their hair. Besides who doesn't love prince or the artist formally known as prince.
It's high time i catch up with some friends and family.
Maybe even a little rest and relaxation...

an egyptian in new york

FARO, an Egyptian born artist has been leaving his mark throughout
New York, and New Jersey for the past 3 years and left quite the
impression in the street art community. He has painted his mummy
characters all of the New York City.

I Am The Heat T-shirts

I am made these shirts last summer for the band I Am The Heat.
It was a fun project. I also styled and modeled them in a cemetery.
The band is nothing like Morrissey and the song cemetery gates, i just really liked the grass that was growing there. Not super easy to find good grass in Manhattan or even Brooklyn. The well kept grass you can find, you usually can not touch.

eletric love

I took this sweet photo in 2003. I was living on the lower east side in
the Maserick Project Towers.(yes they were called projects)
The neighborhood was up and coming and all the mom and pop places were closing.
My neighborhood was going from dangerous to safe and i felt less safe.
How ironic. My roommate and I lived on the 18th floor of these massive white towers and had an amazing balcony that over looked the Williamsburg bridge.
I used to fall asleep every night to the cars driving over the bridge into Manhattan.
Sometimes if you let the sound drowned out it almost mimicked rain falling.
At night you could see the river and the Domino Sugar's factory lights.
When i first moved to the city i would look for the Domino sign to know that i was walking the right way home.

This particular night it was raining, and a massive lightening storm was happening all around us. Growing up on the west coast and seeing their thunder and lighten storms where amazing. When i was a kid i used to love to watch them with my dad.

This was the first one i had witnessed living in NYC and it was amazing. I was completely shocked that i actually got the shot. Even know i feel like i can smell the sweet air of that night and here the rain. So beautiful.

silkscreening on paper

Silk screening on paper is fantastically fun.
I've experimented with making business cards out of the papers I've screened.
They usually come out to be unique sizes which can be good and bad i suppose.
