Kristiana Parn

She is one of my favorites. I thought i would add some of her pictures to my blog.
She is really an amazing painter. I really dig her style of art work.
The fact that you can see the natural wood behind the paintings is pretty amazing.
The drawing of the duck is funny since i live in NYC and have to deal with this when it rains. It is kind of true.

piano bar on the westside of life

i found this little place because a special pal of mine was having a birthday party there. not only did it drag me back in time as far as the condition of the bar, but also because when i walked in i think they were singing the show tune from Oklahoma..

I was never a theater nerd, (even though secretly i wished to be sometimes) i was more of a backstage or be in the audience kinda person. But i will have to admit one night in my youth i was drunk with the dark one(we like to call her Darci) and we did however record on her answering machine a little number about Oklahoma.
WHY Oklahoma you ask. I think it was because we both lived there for a hot minute. My minute was hotter then hers but you get the point.

doors

inside the Milk Gallery in NYC

chartreuse and turquise

I've never really realized how excellent these two colors complement each other until a friend of mine pointed it out. Now i am seeing them all over the place.

Buildings, curtains and even in textiles, especially inside my house. Right now these colors are reminding me of a spring that is supposed to be here but has not quite bloomed yet.

the brooklyn flea market

Went to the first day of the new brooklyn flea market. It was a bit small but what can one expect for a borough with little space. I wouldn't call myself a serious flea market shopper but i was a bit disappointed by the LACK of junk that was present..
It was however the first day and vendors are likely to change when the weather gets better. It just seemed like the same old crap you could get on any street on a Sunday in williamsburg or the lower east side. I am not sure what i was hoping for, maybe a section of 80's t-shirts that said "lifes a beach" in neon or jimmy z brand jams. In any case i will have to check it out again when the sun is shining and the wind is not freezing my fingers and toes off.

I did however buy one thing. This pretty little necklace by Erica Weiner.

I have been eyeballing this sucker online for months and since i felt like i
needed to buy something to justify my bike ride in the cold there i got it.

TIPS

bitches i work for them. Why is it that women (well not all women)
when checking their burberry coat(misspelling was intentional) lined with ridiculous fur, for some reason when departing refuse or simply play stupid like they have no
fucking idea you are supposed to TIP for coat check. When did this little custom start?
I mean that is the point of coat check to a degree, right. Some poor bastard watching your jacket and belongs.IF this wasn't the case then why not keep your ugly ass jackets with you at the table. Normally I am not so frustrated about such a
meaningless topic but for some reason tonight after being stiffed by
countless women and their designer jackets with umbrellas, filled to the top Bloomingdale's bags they want me to hang onto, and then they simply do not tip you. I say i am fed up. The next time i see you about to stiff me i am going to leave you a nice present inside your jacket. What that present will be i have not decided. (or even how i would manage to leave such a present.) Oh don't be fooled by the men either.
They are just as bad. But something about a fellow women stiffing you seems
worse. Maybe i am playing favorites as i am a women and expect them to
sort of understand. Either way it still sucks.
